Elementary Education (Grades K–6)

The Elementary Education (Grades K–6) examination includes three subtests. Candidates must take and pass all three subtests to qualify for a Minnesota license in this field. You may take one, two, or all three subtests at one test appointment.

Format Computer-based test (CBT); 50 multiple-choice questions per subtest
Time One hour per subtest
Test Dates By appointment, year round. Test appointments are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Check seat availability.
Test Sites CBT sites are located in Minnesota, nationwide, and in Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, and Canada. Locate a test center.
Passing Score Set by Minnesota Board of Teaching; examinees must pass all three subtests.
