World Language and Culture: French (Grades K–12)

The World Language and Culture: French (Grades K–12) examination includes two subtests. You may take one or both subtests on the test date. Candidates must take and pass both subtests to qualify for a Minnesota license in this field. Passing this test satisfies the testing requirement for both the K–12 license and the K–8 endorsement.

Format Paper-based test (PBT); multiple-choice questions and constructed-response assignments
  • Subtest 1: 100 multiple-choice questions
  • Subtest 2: 2 presentational writing assignments, 2 presentational speaking assignments
Time Two hours per subtest
Test Dates Offered 3 times per year at 2 test sessions:
  • Subtest 1: 7:30 a.m.–10:00 a.m.
  • Subtest 2: 10:15 a.m.–12:45 p.m.
