MTLE Test Retirement and New Test Launch

Effective August 25, 2019, the current versions of the MTLE tests listed below will be discontinued. The last date to register for the current versions of these MTLE tests is August 23, 2019.

These six current MTLE tests will be replaced by updated versions of the tests, which will be administered beginning August 26, 2019. The first date to register for the updated versions of these MTLE tests is June 4, 2019. Preparation materials for the updated MTLE tests will also be available on June 4, 2019.

Please note that the first score reports for the updated MTLE test fields listed above will be released in Fall 2019, pending Professional Educator Licensure and Standards Board (PELSB) establishment of the passing scores.

Examinees who had not passed all subtests of the current assessment prior to the transition can complete each assessment requirement by combining a Pass status on one or more subtests of the current MTLE test (e.g., 101 Reading Teacher (Grades K– to 12) Subtest 1 with a Pass status on the other subtest(s) of the redeveloped MTLE test (e.g., 212 Reading Teacher (Grades K– to 12) Subtest 2). Examinees may be responsible for submitting a copy of their score report(s) with their license application.
